Plums are native to the Caucasus. It is a stone fruit and thrives best in temperate climates. Its fruits have a distinctive aromatic scent. The plums are used to make plum jam, fruit dumplings and the overripe fruit is used to ferment the famous plum brandy.
Use
The use of plums is very wide:
- in porridge - they are beautifully suited for flavouring and decorating cereal porridge in combination with poppy seeds and cinnamon
