Corn is originally from Central America and is an integral part of the culture in its home country of Mexico. You'll not only find it in every dish, but its dry stems are used as building material by the locals. Maize spread to Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries.
It is valued for its high fibre content and sweet taste. Thanks to freeze-drying, maize retains its original colour, aroma, flavour and nutrients. Visually, it adds visual flair to salads, sandwiches or soups.
Currently, maize is one of the approved genetically modified crops. Our corn comes from the European Union and is GMO-free.
