After the first spoonful, you'll love it as much as we do. The unique sweet taste with subtle hints of almond and coconut will remind you of vanilla rolls. And despite its distinctly sweet taste, you won't find any added sugar or sweetener in it.  And what makes this nut butter unique? Even people with nut allergies can enjoy it. Yes, you read that right! Tiger nuts are not actually nuts in the true sense of the word, but the tubers of the tiger nut plant. The plant produces oily 1-2 cm tubers underground that have a pleasantly sweet nutty taste. At first glance, the tubers resemble a larger, dried nut, hence the name tiger nuts or ground almonds.

Tiger nuts are rich in fibre. The nutritious butter can be enjoyed on its own or added to porridges, muesli, yoghurt, smoothies, pancakes or baking batter.

Recommendation:

Our butters taste best when stored at room temperature. Because we don't use emulsifiers or palm oil, our butters will solidify in the cold and may eventually develop a fatty layer on the surface (especially in the winter when there are large temperature differences) or even fatty spots inside. But don't worry, this is a natural phenomenon - nut fat, and it's not a detriment to the product! You can heat the butter at any time and enjoy its delicious taste. Just put it near a heater or other heat source and stir well.

And a little tip for the end: stir a teaspoon of peanut butter into hot cereal and it will melt beautifully.

Did you know?

Tiger nuts were known to people as far back as ancient Egypt. They were popular for their nutritional benefits. They were even part of the pharaohs' afterlife kit. Nowadays, they are increasingly common on the shelves of health food stores. They are very popular in Spain, where they are made into a drink called Horchata de Chufa.
