Bananas are a tasty snack and a source of quick, quality energy. Originally from South Asia, bananas are now also grown in America, Africa and the Canary Islands. Up to 100 varieties of this sweet fruit are known and imported. Bananas are harvested unripe and turn yellow during their journey. However, some varieties (called vegetable bananas) remain green all the time. These are the ones that are intended for cooking (frying, stewing, deep-frying) and are an important raw material in the places where they are grown, like potatoes.
Use
Dried banana chips can be enjoyed on their own for snacks or in combination with other dried fruits and nuts. They are also suitable for breakfast cereals, smoothies or in batter for baking.
