This annual dioecious herb grows up to six metres tall. Due to its easy growing conditions, health benefits and versatile uses, cannabis has spread around the world. All parts of the plant are processed industrially. For example, hemp is used to make ropes, fishing nets, bowstrings, painting canvas, paints, varnishes, lamp oil, medicines, cosmetics and clothing.
Hulled hemp seeds are widely used in the kitchen. Compared to unhulled seeds, they do not need to be soaked beforehand and are easily digestible.
You do not have to worry about the presence of the psychoactive substance THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). This substance is present only in the leaves and flowers of the plant.
Use
Hulled hemp seeds are suitable for direct consumption. You can use them to make homemade butter, pesto, delicious cheese or hemp milk. You can also add them to yoghurt, muesli, porridge or baking dough as well as to spreads, soups and salads.
